The Two Everything
The things that we have made, our profusion of “stuff,” and our masses of material have been made possible by mechanization and industrial scale production never before imagined. This process has made its mark on the planet and has left a record impossible to erase. The sculptures that I have made through the last few years are made from and about cast-off materials, the detritus, and remnants of this production. They represent artifacts of the world we inhabit and as such, the vernacular of our times.
The Two of Everything hints at a return, with the title referencing /duality and also struggle between light and dark. The title references a somewhat esoteric narrative while also acknowledging the other in us all, “the secret sharer”.
